With the Fall Season Fast Approaching the following is a list of board positions and jobs that need to be filled now
Most positions will fulfill your volunteer requirement
The positions in Red need a volunteer
If you have an idea for different job that can help the running club or to make money or fun at the Jamboree please let us know.
Meetings are the first Monday of the month at 7pm and last up to 2 hours

COACHES REPRESENTATIVES - (THREE, 3): There shall be one representative for each of the following groups: Micros' Representative, Girls' Representative, and Boys' Representative. These members shall be responsible for the coordination and communication of all DDSC events, activities, and meeting with the coaches of the DDSC. They shall work together and in conjunction with The Head Coach to develop ongoing training and coaching development programs for the DDSC caches. These members shall be responsible for locating coaches for coaching vacancies on teams as necessary.
Approx time 1-2 hrs per week during March, April, May, August, and September
REFEREE COORDINATORS - (TWO, 2): These members shall be responsible for recruiting, training and Scheduling a pool of qualified referees for officiating at all DDSC home games and the Jamboree games. They shall submit to the board for its approval a scale of compensation for the referees and submit the payroll to the treasurer for payment.
Approx time 3-5 hrs per month during March and August. 2-3 hours per month during April, May, Sept, and Nov.
VICE PRESIDENT: This member shall assume the duties of the President in his or her absence. This member shall assist the President as required. This member shall be the head of all committees and may appoint other special officers as required.
Approx time 2-6 hrs per month
COACH (1 head coach per team)
Set and manage practice schedule for the team. Coach the players at the games. Be responsible to support and help the referee with unruly team parents.
Approx 100 hours or more per season
Assistant Coach(1 or 2 depending on team size) (selected by the team coach)
Responsible for helping coach the players and filling in for the coach when needed
Team Parent (1 per team) (selected by the team coach)
Responsible for team snack lists, end of year party and purchase of trophies or awards for the players. Manage team picture packets and delivery of the pictures. Organize and create a team donation basket for the Jamboree silent auction
FIELD PERMIT MANAGER- (1): This member shall be responsible to fill out the permits for the fields and submit them to the David Douglas School District or the Portland Parks Department.
Approx time 4-5 hrs per month during April or May and Nov or Dec.
FIELD LINING SET UP (3-5) These members shall be responsible for field layouts, and lining.
Approx time 4-5 hrs in August and 1-2 hours in Early April.
Field Lining Maintenance - (5): These members shall be responsible repainting the field lines as necessary.
Approx time 2-3 hrs per month during April, May, September and October
Equipment MANAGER- (1): These members shall be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the on field equipment. This includes painting the goals, replacing locks and other misc repairs
Approx time 5 hours during the season
GROUNDS MAINTENANCE- (2): These people shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the fields. This includes filling holes and seeding where needed. This also includes a regular clean up of the fields to remove litter and animal scat from the fields
Approx time 5 hrs per person per season
Porta Potty Manager (1)
This person shall be responsible to order the porta potties and be sure they are set up and locked before the season begins. They will also schedule the removal of the units at the end of the season
Approx 3 hours per season
Summer Camp Coordinator(1)
Work with the director of the UK summer camp to set a date, locate and apply for the permit for the school grounds, verify enrollment, and be there as a representative on the first day of camp
Approx 2 hours per season
Coaches Clinic Coordinator(1)
Work with OYSA to set a date for at least one coaches clinic during the summer. Once the date is set, secure the location by applying for a permit from the school and send an email to all coaches to announce the clinic and get rsvp if possible. On the day of the clinic, provide coffee and donuts(with club funds) for the coaches that come to the clinic. Approx 3 hours
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant
Manage the list of volunteers and jobs. Keep track of the volunteer hours completed and be responsible for notifying parents who have not completed the required volunteer hours and billing them if needed
Approx 20 hours per season
School Outreach Coordinators(2)
Provide info to parents at the schools about David Douglas Soccer. Work with registrars to enable parents to sign up for soccer at school events when possible. This job is a new job and may developed to include more coordinators and/or more responsibilities
Approx 5 hours per season(or more)
Club Historian(1)
Document Club’s history, gather information and disseminate. Provide the information in an organized format to the web master to create a history page. Establish documents for fund raising. Approx 3-5?
All the following positions are for the Jamboree
Jamboree Head Coordinator (1 or 2 )
This person will be the overall manager of the Jamboree. The will schedule and run the meetings of the Jamboree Committee. All committee members shall report to them.
Approx 5 hours before the Jamboree and 5 hours on the day of the Jamboree
Jamboree Site coordinator (1)
This person is responsible for the layout and positioning of the entire Jamboree They will also secure the field permit from the school and communicate with the school before the Jamboree to secure tables, electricity, warm water for dunk tank and either access to bathrooms or coordinate porta potties with the port-a-potty coordinator
Approx Hours 3-4 hours before the Jamboree and 2 hours first thing in the morning of the Jamboree
Soccer Games Coordinator (1) and 1 assistant
This person will schedule the soccer games for the Jamboree and be the official timer and horn blower of the games during the day. They will be responsible to make sure the horn is available and with enough air. The assistant will be the timer for ½ of the day of the Jamboree
Approx Hours for the coordinator 2-3 hours before the Jamboree and 3 hours the day of the Jamboree. The assistant will work 3 hours on the day of the Jamboree
Food Concession Coordinator. (1) and 1 assistant
This person will be responsible to negotiate and book all the food concessions for the Jamboree, and or organize club run food concessions. The assistant will help manage the concessions on the day of the Jamboree
Approx Hours for the coordinator 2-3 hours before the Jamboree and 3 hours the day of the Jamboree. The assistant will work 3 hours on the day of the Jamboree
Entertainment and Carnival Games Coordinators(3) Three people will organize carnival or other challenging games and rent a slide or other device for entertainment. Set up and manage games on the day of the Jamboree and tear down at end of the day. Schedule and Manage other volunteers to run the booths.
Approx Hours 2-3 hours per person before Jamboree and 2-3 hour day of Jamboree
Picture Coordinator (1)
Make a schedule for the team pictures for the Jamboree. The pictures should be taken before a teams first game. Be sure that all teams have picture ordering packets. On the day of the Jamboree Work with photographers if/when necessary to coordinate pictures. Be responsible for the pickup and delivery of the pictures to the teams in early October when the orders are complete Approx Hours 4-5
Trash Coordinator (1)
This person will be responsible to be sure there are lined trash cans for the Jamboree. These may be provided by the school, check with site coordinator. On day of the Jamboree they are responsible for emptying the trash cans throughout the day and at the end of the day. Also to manage student volunteers for the litter pickup. Approx hours 3-5 hours
Set Up and Tear Down Coordinator (1) and Assistants (3)
Responsible for overall set up in the morning and tear down in the afternoon of the Jamboree including tents, tables, electrical, signs etc. and to return equipment to the proper locations.
Approx 5 hours each
Dunk Tank Manager(1) and assistant(1)
Create a schedule for the coaches to be in the dunk tank after their games at the Jamboree and notify the coaches by email. On the day of the Jamboree, be sure the tank is delivered, set up, filled, emptied, and removed. During the day, manage all aspects of the dunk tank. Approx 5 hours for manager and 3 hours for the assistant
Fund Raising Basket Coordinators(2)
Coordinate with team parents the creation and collection of the baskets for the silent auction. Set up the display with auction sheet and starting bids at the Jamboree. Manage the delivery of the prizes to the winners
Approx 5 hours each
Raffle Coordinator (1) and 2 assistants
Obtain donations from businesses to be raffled off at the end of the day at the Jamboree. Set up the display and sales table at the Jamboree for the Raffle. Make sure there are raffle tickets. Manage the drawing and the delivery of the prizes to the winners
Approx 5 hours each, most of the time being spent obtaining prizes for the drawings
Face Painting coordinators(2) and face painters(2)
Coordinators will obtain the materials and designs and for a face painting station at the Jamboree. The coordinators will also set up, tear down and manage the face painting booth on the day of the Jamboree Approx Hours 5 hours each
Balloon Creators(2) Last year we had a clown donate her time for the Jamboree, but she is not available this year. If you can make things out of the pencil balloons this would be a great position for you
