Coach Clinic/Meeting

Dear Coaches Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a coaches clinic on July18 from 9am to 12pm @ Ronn Russel Middle School. I will be there to hand out equipment and coaches roster and manuel at 12pm. We also have a coaches meeting on July 25 at Pizza Baron at 11am if you are unable to make the July 18 time. As coaches it is mandatory that you attend one of these dates or you will not recieve your equipment or roster.lease let me know which date you will be attending so I make sure to have all your equipment. I also need some of you coaches to call your last year players that have not signed up yet. If you want to contact me I will let you know who has signed up and then give you last years roster so you can call your players. It looks so far that U11 girls & boys need more players, U-12 girls and U-12 Boys need more players, U13 &14 boys and girls need players. These age brackets have very little players on them so please contact me so we can figure out how tho get your returning players to sign up. FYI: If your not able to attend any of those coaches meeting you will need to make other arrangment for PU. I will not be hand delivering myself. Volunteer Policy Misunderstanding and Concerns

Coaches, I have heard that some coaches have concerns about the volunteer policy. The amount of time that you put in coaching counts as your volunteer time commitment to the club, you do not have to do more. I know most of you give well more than 100 hours of volunteer time to the club and that is greatly appreciated. If you have a team of 10 kids plus your own, that means your team parents need to volunteer a total of 50 hours over the season. About half of those hours will be used to directly help your team and the remaining hours used to help run the club. If you have an assistant coach, their time is counted as their time commitment. I hope you find that you will actually have help from parents to set up nets, manage snacks, parties and make phone calls without having to beg them to do it. My goal since becoming president it to take the work load off of the backs of the coaches and get help from other parents and this volunteer policy helps to accomplish that When we compare our policies to other clubs, like Centennial, they require two parents from each team to help at their Jamboree, a fundraiser other than just putting a basket together, and the coaches have to line the fields. Parkrose requires all parents to either raise a certain $ amount with fundraising or pay the amount This policy has worked very well for David Douglas Swim club for many years, and baseball is considering it to. The more people get involved the better the club will run. Nothing runs well when you are short handed, and that is the why the club has had so much trouble for years. Sincerely Jim Braet DDSC Pres.

Club Meeting Agenda

Club meeting tomorrow, Monday May 4th 7pm at Pizza Baron. If there is anything that you want on the agenda, please let me know, the main thing to be discussed is the different volunteer positions and expanding the list we have Coaches The new volunteer policy will help you find team parents, assistant coaches, and people to set up your fields when needed. All those positions qualify for the volunteer hours. I have not mentioned team parent in the emails to all parents so that as coaches you have more control(and less pressure) in choosing your team parent. This being a new policy we are still formulating the best way to track hours. I assume coaches and assistant coaches would be well more than 10 hours and team parents at least 5 hours ( or more ??) I think we all find a lot more help than we had before Jim Braet DDSC President

All games at Hartley have been moved to Davis Elementary. CLARIFICATION-All U8 Teams will play all games as U9, 5v5 including a goalie.

Coaches, The Spring schedule is posted and the season starts this coming weekend. CRYSA coaches: CRYSA rules and scheduling may be different from the Fall rules you played with , please use the CRYSA tab on our web site to view the rules. You will notice that age groups have been combined. This is due to the fact the other clubs did not get as many teams to sign up for the spring season. Any combined age groups will play based on the rules for the older age. IE U8/U9 uses the U9 rules, etc. We still have not heard back from many of the coaches regarding how many Jerseys they need for the spring season. Please be advised we are waiting for your response. Micro coaches: Two important issues to be aware of: 1. On game days, two coaches of the 1st scheduled games will be responsible to pick the nets up form Sandi's house on the way to the field, set the nets up and unlock the port a potty (please *lock the lock on something inside the port a potty*) Two coaches from the last scheduled games will be responsible to lock the port a potty, take the nets down and return them to Sandi's house. 2. Games are on a single field 3v3, and there are no refs scheduled. Please remember it is only young children and the goal is to have fun and learn soccer, Winning should not be the main focus.

Coaches, T-SHIRTS or JERSEYS Some of the fliers regarding spring soccer stated that everyone would get a free t-shirt, However, some coaches would prefer their team play in their fall jersey. So the t-shirts or Jerseys will be a team choice The whole team can get a t-shirt to play in, or we can give any new players on your team a jersey. Please meet with your parents, make a decision and let us know ASAP.
