DDSC 2024 Annual General Membership Meeting

Please join us DDSC Players, Families, and Members to our Annual General Membership (AGM) Meeting Tuesday, December 3rd 6:30pm to 7:30pm at a location to be determined. This is a time to reflect and celebrate DDSC as we enjoy treats together as we honor specifically our 8th grade players as well as our Volunteers! ALL DDSC Families are invited.

As we approach the AGM meeting it is time to consider your contribution to the Club. One of the healthiest things we can do for our Club is to bring in new volunteers and new leadership. The influx of newer faces brings with it, fresh vision and innovative ideas, which in turn rejuvenate the club’s expression and community value. However, to do this requires your involvement.

The DDSC Board of Directors consist of a dozen roles all of which are filled by volunteers. Each position is important and plays a vital role in the operation of your soccer club. The Board of Directors is asking you to please take a minute and carefully consider whether you would be willing to take up one of these roles.

There are only three requirements for serving on the Board.

That’s it. No prior experience is required. The BEST PART is that we currently have a great group of committed Board team members who have experience and who will provide a strong support system to anyone who joins the team.

I'm personally in the midst of finishing my second term as President, and I have been so grateful to see players and families on the field doing a sport I love within our community. It is time to make room for a fresh voice. I can tell you from personal experience that being a part of this team of volunteers has been a fun, rewarding, and educational experience. I have truly enjoyed my terms as Club President, and I am excited to help usher in the next wave of volunteers.

Everyone’s first excuse is always “I’m too busy.” Let me clarify something, the time commitment just isn’t that big. But even beyond that, the reality is, you will always have (or make) time for the things that are important to you.

We are currently accepting applications for the elected positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director at Large. (See attached PDF for a description of these roles.) If you feel that you might be able to help our club by filling one of these roles, then please send an email to secretary@ddsoccer.org. In your email we would ask that you provide brief answers (one or two sentences is fine) to the following questions:

We are also seeking volunteers for a handful of appointed positions. If you are interested in being a part of our team, and possibly filling one of these appointed positions, then please send an email to secretary@ddsoccer.org.

Thank you for taking the time to read this through and allow me to end by reminding us all that without volunteer participation there would be no David Douglas Soccer Club. Kindly consider your responsibility to your kids and your community and volunteer for DDSC.

DDSC Used Equipment and Uniform Coordinator Jessica Giannettino has put together a gear swap page. This is a community shared project hosted by one of our player's family. Please see if there's any gear that you can use and donate old soccer gear and uniforms so that our players in our community can continue to use it!

We're in particular need of size 1 cleats and can always use jerseys' your little players have outgrown! Contact DDSC Used Equipment and Uniform Coordinator at usedequipment@ddsoccer.org for any questions.
