FALL 2026 Rec 3rd-8th Grade Season Updates

Coaches/Team Managers will be sending Team Welcome Letters the week of 8/9-8/16.
Practices fstart the week of August 17th-21st. Check with your coach on specific days/times/locations.
Weather/Cancellations: Practices and games may be cancelled or rescheduled at times due to high heat, poor air quality, or other unforeseen issues. Always check with your coach / team manager to verify practice and game schedules.
3rd Grade Games: U9 teams will play in a Jamboree on September 12th to start off their game season. More info about the Jamboree coming soon!
Games kick off on Saturday, September 12th. PYSA will post game schedules by the end of August.
Volunteer Reminder: All Adults helping with practices or games must be Registered as a Volunteer with our club and complete a background check. Sign up Here.

Uniforms: Uniforms are required for games. All player uniforms that were ordered during registration will be delivered in person at a practice before the first game. Contact our Merchandise Coordinator with any uniform related questions at merchandise@ddsoccer.org.
Cleats / Shinguards are required for ALL practices and games. Must be purchased separately.
Withdrawals: If you need to withdraw your player from the season, please contact the Registrar at reg@ddsoccer.org.

DDSC continues to thrive because of volunteers like you. This email contains important information about the Club, so please read through to the end.

As we approach the AGM, we ask you to consider how you might contribute to DDSC. One of the healthiest things we can do as a club is welcome new volunteers and fresh perspectives.

The DDSC Board of Directors consists of 12 volunteer members, each playing an essential role in supporting the club’s operations and mission. We invite you to take a moment to consider whether you would be willing to serve in one of these roles.

Requirements for serving on the Board:

A love for kids and the game of soccer
A desire to support our community
Enjoy working with others as part of a team

No prior experience is required. You would be joining a supportive, experienced Board committed to helping new members succeed.

Open Positions

We are currently accepting applications for the following elected positions:

Vice President
Secretary
Director at Large

We are also seeking candidates for the Micro Coordinator position, which is appointed by the Board.

If you are interested in helping our club by filling one of these roles, please email pres@ddsoccer.org and include brief responses (one or two sentences is fine) to the following questions:

Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors?
Have you volunteered with DDSC or another organization in the past or currently? (Not required.)
DDSC’s mission is to provide a fun, high-quality recreational soccer experience to as many kids as possible in our local community. Do you have any ideas for strengthening or expanding this mission?

The David Douglas Soccer Club is a non-profit, community based program dedicated to sharing our vision and love of the game of soccer. Located in East Portland, Oregon, DDSC Recreational Soccer League is a league available for children who are 4 years old through 8th grade who want to learn skills and play soccer purely for the fun of it.

Used Equipment and Uniform Information

DDSC Used Equipment and Uniform Coordinator Jessica Giannettino has put together a gear swap page. This is a community shared project hosted by one of our player's family. Please see if there's any gear that you can use and donate old soccer gear and uniforms so that our players in our community can continue to use it!
